Guest ABG Guests Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 My MFY-fan friend bought some tickets today for the Subway Series at Shea, and had a question that I didn't know the answer to off the top of my head. What is the difference between Loge Reserved "BR" level and standard Loge Reserved?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 I think BR is "back rows." Seats where the overhang of the Mezzanine level blocks the view of the sky.

I think Widey and I sat there on a rainy game once last year, and were quite happy the overhang was there.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 The best seats are under the overhang but not too far back. When I had a partial season ticket plan in the 1980's that's where I sat. Seats two rows in front of me got rained on, but I stayed dry. And I was able to see the whole sky.I used to know which rows were best for this, but I've long since forgotten.
Guest KC Guests Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 The back rows of the mezzanine aren't really suitable for viewing a baseballgame as you can't see the ball when it's hit in the air 'cause you're in a cave.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Sorry, but the loge back rows absolutely suck, especially if you're up the lines: You'll miss one outfielder completely, lose the ball in the air, hurt your neck. But I'm glad they sold those to a MFY fan.I just got back from Shea. Built my own "7-pack" so I can stick it to the Man.Got there earlier than last year, dressed warmer and the line moved faster -- arrived a little after 8 and had my tix a little after 11. Said hi to Tim Tuefel and to Sid. Didn't see Darling, Mex or Mookie.Hit the Assi Superstore afterward and loaded up with a 20-lb. sack of Jasmin rice.

Please tell your friend and all other yankee fans to sit there.

Guest Bret Sabermetric Guests Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Yeah, they're pretty bad. Didn't mean to suggest otherwise. It's the seats just under the lip of the overhang, as Yancy says, that are pretty damned fabulous when the rain comes.
Guest ABG Guests Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, I will be sitting in them with the MFY fan friend, and I'm hoping I won't miss too much. I'll be in Row C I think, which would indicate to me it's not too far back.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 In case you haven't guessed Row C is the third row back from the main aisle. There are also "boxes" forward of that so in reality you are the 9th row.

I was just curious, I didn't know about the specific designation.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Not sure if this feature still exists, but you useta be able to check sightlines by seat # at mlb.com
Guest cooby Guests Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 See if this works...http://www.seatdata.com/html/mlb_mets/pick_section_mlb_mets.htm
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 that site chart is kool, but very charitable when it comes to specific views. Esp from those seat I was referring to.Hey ABG, if its not a cold day and you dont mind not seeing fly balls as they travel thru the air these arent the worst.....what am i saying. these are the worst seats in the house, lol.Still, like u say, id take em to see the Mets, and I have.A Met game is a Met game.I watched games from the subway platform outside, back in the day.
Guest KC Guests Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 I meant the back seats of the loge in my post the other day, although theback of mezz kinda sucks too.
