Cool deal 62, I just tuned in and saw Anderson hit a triple and score on an infield hit, Josse Valentine just caught the last out in the top of the 7th.

This is the Caribbean WS, Dominican Republic versus Puerto Rico, game one I think they said.

Did anyone else see the game last night? Hostteam Venezuela won the series by beating the Dominican Republic in extra innings.

Anderson Hernandez got a hit and scored a run. And, unlike almost all of the other players (maybe the stereotype about Latin American players is true) actually took some first pitches in his at bats.

But he also made one of the best fielding plays I've seen in a few years. Playing second base, he ranged to his right, tracked down a grounder on the shortstop side of the bag, got to his knees, and threew the runner out at first. If that is an example of the way he can play second base, I want him as the starting second baseman for the Mets this year. With a glove like that (especially since Delgado doesn't have great range) he would only have to hit a weak .250 or so to stay in the lineup.

I read into the "met not being able to hit" line in the article you linked, and thought it was your way of restating what some have said about Hernandez.
If you had done it with that in mind, I would have commended you for your cleverness.

But since it was just a tv alert, its ok for it to be in this thread.

EDIT: when I started this thread, I was only thinking of the CWS. But why can't this be made a sticky, to be used for future Metly TV alerts? Its in keeping with the RMSFT (read more, start fewer threads) philosophy.
