Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 It'd be pretty interesting to see the transit strike inconvenience Al.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2005 Author Posted December 20, 2005 I had "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" in mind since I got on the train. Just needed time and the internet to look up the poem.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Neat poem! Al and I are old pals. I saw him sitting in front of the Starbucks across the street from the team hotel in Cincinnati in 2003, furiously chatting up a guy who appeared to be one of the writers. I circled the block for half an hour and never got up the nerve to interrupt and say hello. Then I went back to the room and spent half an hour telling my wife how I had just spent the previous half-hour. As we were going out, we passed him as we were leaving and he was entering the elevator."Hi Al!" And for reasons still unknown to me, I gave him the thumbs-up."Yeah, hi."Made my day. Fans are so easy.
