Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Not a single mention of Seaver or Doc, yet a fun read on a dreary winter day when hot stove is the only thing to talk about and every Met move was beaten to death within 5 minutes of completion (and some before they were consummated).Memorable games with lots of strikeoutsI had forgotten Randy once wore an Astro uniform.I remember that Kerry Wood game, including a highlight of a lefty swinging at a curve that the catcher caught BEHIND AND TO THE RIGHT OF HIM. A former AA pitcher (not that that means anything, other than he has seen some filthy pitchers up close and personal---he was my all-time favorite baseball coach ever, stories of pitching to Fonzie ("He's sick") play and giving up a home run to Jordan despite being a good prospect who had his career derailed by an eye injury) who coached me agrees that this was the most amazing breaking stuff he'd seen. This remark amused me: "This is one of the six games the YES Network cycles through its programming schedule."OE: I forgot Jay Payton in that "What Met players do you worship" thead._____________________________This post had the designation 114) Jay Payton!
