Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 IIRC, Aaron Heilman will be pitching in this league as a starter to get used to being a starter again. I know for a fact, from the FAN, that he will doing this somewhere, though I could be wrong on what league it is.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted November 3, 2005 Author Posted November 3, 2005 So, how's Aaron doing?
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Heilman is starting for the Licey Tigers in the Dominican League, not in Venezuela. His last start seems to have been the 28th; he's 1-1, 3.72His teammates include Anderson Hernandez, manny Aybar, Heath Bell and Pedro.http://www.licey.com/
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Check the Dominican Winter League thread--it's full of fun-filled stats from all your favorite Mets players!
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Apparently, Jake is playing for Los Llanos in the VWL, however. He's batting .240/.367/.400 in 50 at bats and drove in 4 runs with a pair of doubles yesterday. Craig Brazell is batting .271/.302/.322 with 14 K in 59 AB. That's a terrible, terrible line. Ramon Castro is batting .316/.409/.368 in 19 AB. Michael Restovich (former Twins farmhand who migrated to Colorado then somewhere else) has a rather impressive .357/.446/.607 line in 56 AB. He's pretty young and I think is a minor league free agent this year. Supposedly terrible defensively, however.

Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Petit made his first start last night after working 3 innings out of the pen. His cumulative stats:1.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, 9 IP, 8 H, 4 BB, 6 K, 1 HRBrazell's doing even worse in limited time. Cumulative:.242/.282/.288/.570 OPSCastro:.300/.391/.350/.741 OPS--he's had only 1 extra base hit in 20 at bats.Jake:.238/.371/.350/.721 OPS--13 BB to 19 K in 80 at bats. That's a lotta K's but the walks are nice.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Petit has pitched once, going 6 innings and allowing only one earned run on 6 hits. He struck out 7. Cumulative:15 IP, 1.20 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 13 K, 4 BB, 1 HR Brazell hasn't played since I last posted and neither has Castro.Jake, meanwhile, is sucking. 87 AB, .218 AVG/.364 OBP/.322 SLG/.686 OPS, 16 BB, 22 KWhere'd his power go?
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 At least he's walking some.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Petit has pitched once, and got hit hard, giving up 6 hits (including 2 HR) & 2 runs over 3.67 IP, walking none & K'ing 2. Cumulative stats:18.67 IP, 1.93 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 15 K, 4 BB, 3 HR Brazell hasn't played since I last posted. I just discovered that Castro isn't in the VWL after all--it's some other Ramon Castro who plays shortstop. So ignore all those other RC updates.Jake got another 8 at bats, strking out once and apparently getting a hit or two to raise his line to: 95 AB, .232 AVG/.365 OBP/.326 SLG/.691 OPS, 16 BB, 23 K I'll continue to update on Jake & Petit, since I imagine y'all are as curious as I am.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 So much for Petit turning into a pumpkin now that he's no longer a Met.7 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 5 K, 1 BBCumulative:25.67 IP, 1.75 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, 20 K, 5 BBNo updates for the others.
