metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I assume you mean because he took that hit last night?]Mike Piazza left last night's game in the sixth inning after being hit on the wrist by Victor Zambrano's wild pitch, but he said the ball missed his healing pisiform bone. "It's OK," Piazza said. "It's a little sore. I should be all right. I'll just keep icing it and see what happens." ... Recently, manager Willie Randolph has joined some his coaches walking laps around the stadium, and it is interesting to note only one member of the core group has not taken part in the pregame sessions: pitching coach Rick Peterson. His job seems secure, but Randolph and GM Omar Minaya said the staff will be re-evaluated following the season, with possible changes

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Yeah what's that about, and why is Willie walking laps aroud the stadium with his staff, it would be foolish to get rid of Peterson, I went looking for a thread about the Mets new TV station, couldn't find it, the Mets will launch it tomorrow,http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/mets/ny-sbmnotes284445971sep28,0,4504861.story?coll=ny-mets-print

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Ed Coleman provided some insight yesterday afternoon. While he didn't go as far as to say that they are in violent disagreement, he said that "Peterson is a numbers guy, while Willie likes to go with his gut".Seems to me that conflict has to be resolved in some way if Peterson is going to be there next season. Later

I'm sure there can be a reasonable reconcilation.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 If the Mets weren't so hot right now, "Walking Away from Peterson?" might have been the lead.
