Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Vizquel cant handle a hot shot off Woody's bat, so Woodward has the Mets second hit
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Replay of the Bonds strikeout from 2000. Nice._____________________________This post was made under the posting designation 171) Mo Vaughn
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 "today's lineup is bullshit, bad job willie"Jeez, is Willie allowed to rest any regulars? He's sitting one reg - or two if we've decided that a 5-day callup is now cast in stone, both of which are LHBs against a LHP. Other than that it's your standard cast of characters.

Gotta get that rest in somewhere. Its just that I hate when I detect a defeatest attitude, like Willies thinkin "well, Ill take a 5-2 trip and its all i could have asked, so Ill rest em now and see if the backups can get me that 6th for a 6-1 that would be really alot to expect". I think on this road trip we go for the throat cuz we can get rollin off that for awhile. But there will be tuffer dayz ahead, this i know.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 they had that lead runner hung out to dry!well, we got one. That guy on 2nd better not score
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Especially since tomorrow's an off day. Let them rest on the cross country plane ride if they need rest.OE - Responding to Werewolf's point about going for the jugular TODAY!!!!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 NICE CATCH BELTRAN.save a run and Matsuis honor (with me)
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 tommorow is an offday, why rest a starter today?wtf was that matsucki?? tag the lead runner!nice catch by beltran to stop boneheaded infield defense from costing us a run.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Good thing Beltran wasn't positioned on the warning track like he usually is. Nice diving catch on a half bloop-half line drive. And wouldn't you know it, he's leading off the next inning._____________________________This post was made under the posting designation 171) Mo Vaughn
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Heads-up play by Benson ... gets followed by a dumb (heads-down?) play by Matsui ... gets bailed out by a nice play by Beltran.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 and Carlos leads off with a double.I like :D
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Alou looked pretty terrible on that, running back to the track. It lands for a double. Apparently, Alou is all beat up._____________________________This post was made under the posting designation 171) Mo Vaughn
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 That was a ducky louble. Alou seemed to pull up.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Alou hasn't been a good fielder since the first time we had a George Bush as President.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 that low inside curve lowrys throwin is a bitch. We need someone to rip that down the 3rd base line.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Woodie is staying alive, but fouling off a lot of balls.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 YEShahahahahahaand thats baseball too.how bout that.

Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Woodward hacks at a ball in the dirt for strike three.Except the ball bounced into the stands, Woody to first, Beltran scores, and we have the first lead of the game.1-0

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Diaz has been battling Lowry away all day. Good job.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 "Let them rest on the cross country plane ride if they need rest. "And we all know how relaxing cross-country travel can be!Point is, that unless and until this whole thing all falls apart on us, we could look at any game from here on out and say that it's not the time to rest a regular. It's our main lefty bat sitting against a tough lefty and takes advantage of the off-day to get the double day-off (ye olde Bobby V. strategy) and gear up for the stretch run.It all reminds me about the complaints at Benitez picking the wrong day to blow saves. In all that time I never heard what the criteria were for a good time to blow one.
