Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 Mother Fucking Yankees pulled it out with 5 in the 9th.With Giambi on first, 1 out, and trailing by 4, Posada hit a comebacker to Affeldt: couldn;t have been an easier DP, except, the Royal shortstop took 10 minutes to go over to the bag to cover, making Affeldt throw to an empty base. Throw came in low, was dropped and everyone safe. Then the next 5 or 6 MFYs got hits.Grrrr

Abreu really should have brought it back into the park with the leather. A very hi fly & stealable homer. Just made it over the fence and he just missed it off the side of his glove.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 Phils lose on that one homer. If you see it, youll see.Abreu should have had it.Theres a break 4 us.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Jeez, after I saw the hi(low)-lights of Saturday's Yanqui game it was even worse than I imagined. Not only was that error on a sure game-ending play (Posada & Giambi running) but then almost every hit that followed was a dinky grounder that justbarely found a hole through the IF. Any one of them could have ended the game ... but Noooooo! Not that I'm bitter or anything.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 In short, there are very good reason why the Royals have the record that they have. Maybe priority #1 for them should be infield defense...
Guest PiazzaFan411 Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I bet you anything that if the Royals had not gone on a 19 game losing streak they would have performed better.
