Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I knew I shouldnta posted that.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 so far, I cant complain.Mets got 2 on small ball and long ball, and our ace is on the mound. Struggling tho, even tho no hits yet.Councell walks and steals 2nd.Do your stuff Pedro. However you do it, keep us in the lead.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 maybe struggling is an overreaction to the fact he's all ready thrown over 50 pitches in the 3rd
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Pedro's getting his fastball up to 92 mph tonight.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Oh, excuse me, now he hit 93 mph.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Like Zvon said, the pitch count could be a problem, his career high for BB is seven, that's just amazing and that was when he was with the Expos.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Pitchers of Martinez's level always seem to find a way.A pop up and a foul out and its still 2-0 Mets.On an unrelated note, Shilling got shelled today in his 1st game back as a starter.5 innings pitched. Gave up 8 hits, 6 earned runs. Threw 81 pitches, only walking one.

Now would be a good time for Beltran to do a lil hittin.I know many made light of how he hits when Pedro pitches(early on), but at least we had that to poke fun at. Ive enjoy watchin Beltran do the little things. I really want to see him do more of the bigger things during this stretch. He grounded out.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Jake-Monster walks. Up comes Victor.

Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 8 pitch inning for Pedro, 1-2-3. That helps.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 whats he doin there? Scratchin fleas? And that is his tail, right?(I know we got some youngins who view. I must behave)
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I hope the Dback batters help out by swinging their bats and not looking at too many pitches. Pedros up to 67 pitches.Afew quick innings is what we need. Get him to go deep before we hit the pen. We could def use 7 or 8 from pedro. If he goes deeper than that Ill eat my scooby snack......or my Met hat.You can make the call......
Guest The Brooklyn Bum Guests Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I was wondering how long it was going to take Fran to start blabbing about that thing that I'm not going to mention. :x

Pedro got thru that inning nicely. If he finds one of his REAL grooves.............Ill shutup.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Question re: superstition... does it only apply to the spoken? Or any mention? If the latter, check out the mets homepage--Dumbass IT dept.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Even Gary and Howie are talking about it. Argh!
