Guest Beenso Guests Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 I dont know, but am I the only one who was infuriated watching Willie be the wimp he is once again on Sunday? I think the umpires can tell him that the Mets must bat with blindfolds on and all Willie would do is walk over, exchange a few pleasantries with the crew, stroll back to the dugout, and accept it. Wille should have gotten thrown out and not just sat there while Sandy Alomar actually stood up for his team.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 The umps got that call right, Alomar got run, i thought Willie argued enough to meet the requirements of looking like he cared...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 I think Willie was clearly mad, he just doesn't have a Piniella/Martin type hissy fit in his repetoire. The Alomar case looked more like the ump having rabbit ears and going after him. His fit looked to be caused by the ejection rather than the other way around. The umps screwed up, but once they screwed up there was no going back and changing it so we weren't going to win that argument anyway.
