Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 I agree that Wright's responsibility there shouldn't be overlooked.Should Piazza be running harder, sure. But it's no surprise to me that Wright should get from first to third faster than Piazza from second to home.Enough, blame, to go, around.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Before hanging Wright up for the snafu, do we know whether or what kind of sign Manny Acta was giving him?Someone screwed up - the question is who.
Guest gnatman Guests Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Not to excuse Mikey for easing it on home, but where was the on deck batter Diaz to signal him to bust it since a play on Wright at third was developing?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Good point gnatman, also we should give randy Winn credit for making a good throw to the cut-off man at 3rd, he saw what was developing for sure.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Well, let's not hang anybody at all, but my thinking is that a guy going from first to third with the play in front of him in left field runs on his own, as he sees more of the play than the third-base coach.
