metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 from Newsday...]Matsui had ice on his left knee afterward, but said he would try to play Friday. Neither he nor Randolph accused Kendall of a dirty slide. From Kendall..]"I didn't do anything wrong," Kendall said. "He didn't get out of the way."

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Ken Doll's footsies were slightly high, but not maliciously so.Mostly it appeared to be a knee-on-knee (or shin) collision and didn't look to me like KazMat got spiked.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Legal play but unnecessarily dangerous. Matsui was already "out of the way" and had gotten throw off by the time Kendall arrived, then Kendall went inside the bag at Matsui (that's OK) but kicked (not OK). Hopefully Matsui's OK.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Upon further review (I just saw it again) it was a bit dirtier than I first thought. Looks like he did catch him w/his spikes up on the inside of Kaz's knee which - when you consider the fact that Kaz was somewhat airborne at the time - means the spikes were higher than necc.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Interestingly, the booth guys are saying that Keppinger was hurt on a takeout slide yesterday and he's out of the lineup.
