from Newsday...

]Matsui had ice on his left knee afterward, but said he would try to play Friday. Neither he nor Randolph accused Kendall of a dirty slide.

From Kendall..

]"I didn't do anything wrong," Kendall said. "He didn't get out of the way."

Ken Doll's footsies were slightly high, but not maliciously so.
Mostly it appeared to be a knee-on-knee (or shin) collision and didn't look to me like KazMat got spiked.

Legal play but unnecessarily dangerous. Matsui was already "out of the way" and had gotten throw off by the time Kendall arrived, then Kendall went inside the bag at Matsui (that's OK) but kicked (not OK).

Hopefully Matsui's OK.

Upon further review (I just saw it again) it was a bit dirtier than I first thought. Looks like he did catch him w/his spikes up on the inside of Kaz's knee which - when you consider the fact that Kaz was somewhat airborne at the time - means the spikes were higher than necc.

Interestingly, the booth guys are saying that Keppinger was hurt on a takeout slide yesterday and he's out of the lineup.
