whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted April 12 Posted April 12 So, as FK pointed out in today's thread, I think it was him, the Mets are making a second trip to the West Coast in what, two weeks? How would that make anybody feel? I would dread it and it would show in my work. I haven't look to see if any other teams are in the same boat and how they are doing.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 12 Posted April 12 The Mets four out of their first five road trips (one already done) this season will involve trips into the Pacific and/or Mountain time zones and none will have a day off leading into them. However each will be preceded by a day game leading into a night game so more of a buffer there, plus going east to west is the easier adjustment. There Will be a day off following each west coast swing since that's the tougher turn-around. I believe that one is mandated by the basic agreement. The Hot Corner 1
Casey Stengel Old-Timey Member Posted April 12 Posted April 12 they are being paid a whole lot of money to make those trips and play a kid's game that makes us all enviable. the problem lies with mendoza who does not have to ability to motivate them which was proven by last years collapse. he just doesnt have what it takes. where is billy martin when we need him?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Quote they are being paid a whole lot of money to make those trips and play a kid's game that makes us all enviable. The topic being discussed was whether multiple coast-to-coast trips in a short span of time was a factor in an athletes performance. Bringing up the old saw about money for a kids game is hardly the point. Quote where is billy martin when we need him? Probably drunk, dead, or dead drunk. Maybe all three. whippoorwill 1
