A Tom Seaver promo shot from the 1974 goodwill tour of Japan.

Tom's hair is looking lighter than usual after a season in the sun, and his uniform is all sorts of remixed, with the orange and blue reversed on the chestplate, a seemingly lighter orange, and the pinstripes not making it through customs at all.

An earlier posted photo suggests that whoever was dressing the team did get the home chestplate right on another edition of the uniform, but placed it instead on what appears to be the road greys.

That could, of course, just be dingier version of the home whites that look grey in bad light next to the shiny ice-cream whites of the Giants.

Maybe the reverse chest plate was just a workout uniform, but it was apparently a thing.
