2025 Arizona Diamondback/New York Met/Seattle Mariner/Baltimore Oriole/Amost a New York Met again José Castillo has decided to get off the DFA carousel and sign with the Chibe Lotte Marines.

The biggest memory I got from the guy was how much he looked like Edgardo Alfonzo if Edgardo had a scruffy beard and was really really huge.

The Mets non-tendered José two weeks ago and this is the sort of **** that goes down when you non-tender a guy.

At six and a half feet and 260-ish pounds, I hope he doesn't hit his head too much in Japanese hotels.

He didn't pitch that badly for the Mets. He throws hard and is only 29 - one of those lefties you want to keep around if you can.

I remember him being a big guy who, despite his 2.35 ERA, was still very shaky (1.761 WHIP). He was the epitome of "got lucky" with that ERA. I also remember how he went away and came back, just to be let go again.
