Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 Dom Hamel was sent down without making his debut, making him for now a phantom major leaguer.I'm not 100% I know who the right answer is, but I think I might, so here's a trivia question: Who was the Mets last phantom major leaguer before Hamel?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 I recall Anderson Garcia, a pitching prospect who the Mets acquired when trading away Benitez, spent a few days on the active roster in 2006 but never got into a game. He eventually pitched in one career MLB game for the Phillies (but never with the Mets).
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 The Mets have a phantom offense.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2025 Author Posted August 6, 2025 It's not Garcia, though it was a pitcher, and a bit more recent.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2025 Author Posted August 7, 2025 Connor Grey is the guy I came up with, well done!
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2025 Author Posted September 29, 2025 For the time being, Dylan Ross is the Mets newest phantom.
