Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 16, 2025 Posted June 16, 2025 Two Nebraska homebodies and BFFs at loose ends take a once-in-a-lifetime Florida resort vacation, stumble into a maniacally evil plot.[FIMG=450]https://www.kino-zeit.de/sites/default/files/styles/plakat/public/2021-01/barb_star.jpg?itok=jUtpS-Sf[/FIMG]
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 16, 2025 Author Posted June 16, 2025 It appears that I've fallen into a run of 2021 films developed by and featuring female former Saturday Night Live cast members.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 18, 2025 Author Posted June 18, 2025 Well, this just did not work at all. It is papered wall-to-wall with gags and we laughed maybe one and a half times, and ten minutes later forgot what it was we kind of laughed at.Not kind, not relatable, not coherent, not funny.I'd even say it isn't consistent, even though it is consistently not funny, as it changes its approach every fifteen minutes or so, trying to be a musical, then swerving back into a spy comedy, then a satire, even though it doesn't seem to know what it is satirizing.
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2025 Posted June 27, 2025 I myself am not into ‘girls weekends’ etc; I’m the type that’ll say I’ll go just to shut them up then don’t go anyway So this doesn’t appeal to me it all but who are the two actresses?

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2025 Author Posted June 27, 2025 The actresses and co-writers are Annie Mumolo and Kristen Wiig, who were members of The Groundlings comedy troupe together, and previously co-wrote the far superior Bridesmaids. I guess I stuck with this based on the notion that, if they wrote Bridesmaids, then something in this film is going to deliver for me. But nothing really did.I guess it says something about the marketing department's confidence that the poster above doesn't feature the actresses' faces.
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2025 Posted June 27, 2025 Yeah it looks like two Lily Tomlins
