AJLS

The New York Post, courtesy of their house superspy Mike Puma, are reporting that A.J. Ellis will be the new Mets strategy coach, replacing the departed Danny Barnes.

AJ had been serving in the front office for the Padres, where he presumably gained the notice of new Mets manager Andy Green.

Ellis' hiring will presumably make the Mets the first-ever team with two former big league catchers named AJ on their staff.
