Now that the Mets have essentially caught the Nats, them beating the Pads tonight is the better outcome, and hey, they have an early 1-0 lead.

Kansas City fails the Mets in their key game against Arizona, who have suddenly won four straight.

Pads have six more outs against the Washington bullpen as they trail 3-1.

Reds and Dodgers tied.  If Reds fall, it will leave them within two of the Mets.

Pads did more than win.  They were down in 4-1 in the ninth before stampeding back against the Nats bullpen.

The Mets are now in sole possession of fourth place in the division, and 12th place league wide, and the Nats would really be doing me a solid if they could just win every game going forward from here.
