Ashie mentioned this in the non-baseball forum but I'll double up on it here since it involves MLB:

Stan Kroenke (Kroenke Sports and Entertainment - 'KSE') reached an agreement to purchase controlling interest in the LA Angels, thus ending the mostly unsuccessful reign of current owner Arte Moreno. After winning the WS in 2002 and then reaching post-season five times in the 2004 - 2009 stretch, the Angels have only once reached the playoffs (swept 3 - 0 in the first round of 2014) and are already assured (they're 53 - 85) of 2026 being their eleventh straight losing season. The sale is of course pending all the legal hurdles and approval from MLB but is expected to be finalized by early 2027.

KSE/Kroenke is, most notably, the owner of the LA Rams, but also has interest in the NBA's Denver Nuggets, NHL's Colorado Avalanche, MLS's Colorado Rapids, and Arsenal in the English Premier (soccer) League.

Angels fans must be rejoicing,  Stan has done well at Arsenal , mostly by staying out of the way , but to his credit he stuck with Arteta as manager when typically managers get fired quickly,  they finally won the title after a 22 years , financially they are very well run and have spent big on players

Worth noting that Moreno bought the club in 2003, so the title doesn’t go on his ledger.

Very much a tale of two halves: in the first 11 seasons from 2003-2014, Angels had a .553 winning percentage, winning seasons 9 of 11 years and 6 division titles.

12 season run from 2015-2026 has had a .455 winning percentage, one winning season, and zero playoff appearances.

The tide of public opinion and very much turned on Moreno in recent years to the point where 'Sell the Team!' has been openly vocal in the stadium itself. Last year's remark (maybe the year before) from Moreno didn't help: this was the one where he said that 'for Angels fans, winning wasn't their top priority', that they were mostly interested in a good ballpark and food in front of some light entertainment (or words to that effect) as if an LAA game was just another act from DisneyLand, 'Disney on Spikes' maybe.
