Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 18 Posted August 18 The Padres have a little extra to play for tonight, as reporting today indicates their minor-league catching coordinator, Oswaldo Pirela, was taken into custody by ICE on Sunday, and by all accounts, still remains detained. Pirela is reportedly in the country legally while awaiting outcome of an asylum claim, and is employed by the Padres under a temporary work permit, which he was reported to be not carrying at the time.
