Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Alex Carrillo, who pitched briefly for the Mets in 2025 and was released by the organization on July 9, 2026, was signed by the Giants on July 14. In 3 relief appearances last year, he had a 13.50 ERA. Share your memories.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted July 25 Author Posted July 25 This was one of the head scratchers of that whacky 2025 season. With all the prospects in the system (and insert all the rehashed complaints here as well), we still went with Alex Carrillo, who wasn't even THAT good in Mexico, or THAT good in indy ball, or THAT good in our minor league system, but he had a high K rate, so that was why he got the call. That's what I pretty much remember about Carrillo -- he fit the standard formula for what qualified for major league service in the Mets 2025 bullpen ... he had a high K rate in the minors. That's about all you needed it seemed like.
