C&L Perez in the first inning — no runs on no hits and no walks, two strikeouts.

Nine pitches, and nine strikes.

So he gets pulled before the second.

Toby Myers has a 7.26 ERA since April 10 and a 11.12 ERA since May 6 (13 games), yet they still keep trotting him out there.

The Mets are "stretching out Myers" to become a starter. Disregard the fact he's been a total letdown. They're going to make him a starter. Disregard the fact the Mets have Tong, Wenninger and Thornton in the minors. They're gonna try to make Myers a starter. Well, Mendoza's gone but the stupid is still there.

I'm with you on this.  I'd rather give the kids a chance.

Soto refuses to challenge two strikes that weren't, then walks anyway.  I wonder if he's daring the pitcher to challenge him.

Exactly. Give the kids a chance. It seems like for the past few years we keep hearing how many worthwhile prospects they have, yet they keep throwing retreads out there instead of letting the fruits of their farm system actually prosper. You can't know if the prospects are actually good if you never give them a real shot.

Wagemen strikes out on a pitch over his head, Alvarez strikes out on a foul tip that wasn't (you can't challenge that?), and Vientos simply strikes out.  It's already a long afternoon.

On the bright side, Luzardo is on my fantasy team and he's racking up some decent points for me today.

Looking for a comeback and delighted Senga, but this is very much a second-game-of-a-double-header lineup.

Mets have chased Luzardo. Now they have to see if they can Cchase Shugart.

Chase Shugart chased.

Now, if I heard correctly, they're bring Jim Backus as their next pitcher. I'm Lovie-ing it!

I had a feeling Torrens's failure to get to 2nd was going to come back to bite us. At least no GiDP though.

Was probably 50/50 whether Luis would have been able to stretch out the double.
