Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Out running errands today.I first checked and it was 5-0. Sweet.Went into another store and found it was 5-3.Heard the Alonso double in the car and it was 6-3. Exhale a little.Get home and find it's 5-5.We're gonna need more runs.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 I can't imagine who is available beyond Diaz
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 10, 2025 Author Posted August 10, 2025 Whoever they need is available. Including Stanek. Including Montas.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 We need a Taylor-made double play. LOL get it?
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Oh wait his name is Tyler never mind.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 10, 2025 Author Posted August 10, 2025 That was the sort of inning-ending double-play I haven't seen in a while.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 This guy Contreras is a pain in the butt.Later
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Mullins' last home run with runners on base was May 3. It was a two-run dingle dongle.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 At 5'9 Cedric Mullins fits in as a smaller fire hydrant type guy
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 "Contreras" actually literally translates to "hemorrhoids" in English. No lie.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Ryan just walked the first batter. All I can say is, "What the Hel-sley?" LOL
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 10, 2025 Author Posted August 10, 2025 #HellsBells is trying to be too fine.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Since jumping out to the 5-0 lead (top 4) NYM pitchers have allowed the leadoff batter to reach base in the 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 10, 2025 Author Posted August 10, 2025 Oh, Edwin is not in.That 4-6 hole between Mauricio and Lindor has been a very busy thoroughfare today.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 There's no RYAN in baseball!Or there shouldn't be, in Mets baseball, at least!Typical Mets!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Do these fuckin' guys EVER hit a ball AT anyone?!?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Well, it's tied. That's something
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 (edited) 12 of the last [CROSSOUT]25[/CROSSOUT] 26 Brewers hitters have reached base (from the bottom of the 4th thru the 8th).That one GiDP to end the 7th and the two snags of line drives by Pete are only things keeping this game from being a double digit blowout at this point. Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 10, 2025 Author Posted August 10, 2025 Let us send Marte up for Torrens in the ninth. And then PLEASE pinch-run for him if he reaches.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 10, 2025 Author Posted August 10, 2025 They send Álvarez up, and that is good at one level, but then they can't pinch-run for him if he reaches base.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 10, 2025 Author Posted August 10, 2025 If only Cedric Mullins could get a turn at-bat.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Pete's bloop double in the 5th not only drove in their most recent run but it was also the last NYM hit!Nothing since has even resembled a hit. Pop-ups, Ks, weak grounders.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 A "crusher for the Mets", Gelbs? This doesn't make the list of worst five games of the week!
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Glad I stopped watching 10 minutes ago because this team blows.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 A very difficult season1 1/2 over Reds
