Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 A pair of lefties going tonight. No, not Bernie Sanders and AOC, but rather David Peterson and Jose QuintanaThose two former teammates currently sport identical ERAs (3.30) even if via very different methods. This will be the 12th start of the year for the 36 y/o Quintana as he was out between May 9th and June 1stHis K/9 are down a bit from last season and his H/9 and BB/9 are up, so maybe some smoke and mirrors going on.Peterson, meanwhile, needs to right his own ship following his two worst starts of the year: 10 combined runs on 17 H and 6 BB in 8.2 IP vs Philly & PittOutings like that will fluff up your old WHIP

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 Rain delay in anticipation of bad weather
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 There is a thunderstorm watch in the area but little in the way of rain
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 These Milwaukee Cub Scout uniforms always crack me up.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 I like tonight's jersey, but the caps are def cub-scout-esque.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2025 Author Posted July 3, 2025 Even though he's not giving up hits, it's still three walks to the first 12 batters for Peterson.Mets pitchers tops in the NL in walks and 3rd overall (ahead of only LAA & CHW). 325 in 87 games (3.74/G) coming into tonight.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 It won't change anything but I'm up to my eyeballs with both Vientos and Baty

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 Alonso suddenly getting his throwing confidence back is $$.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 This game has a post season feel to it, to me anyway. Big crowd and my Beverage of choice Reign White Gummy BearNice DP by Bayientos
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 Vientos-to-Baty-to-Alonso is a double-play of a third-baseman to an out-of-position third-baseman to a converted third-baseman.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 I wish Quintana was walking to the Mets dugout to change uniforms
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2025 Author Posted July 3, 2025 Those are a tough three hits to go out on if you're Quintana. IF single, stick-bat-out single, seeing eye single
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 Two bad swinging strike-three calls in two innings.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 The Mets are gonna need more runs to win this oneThe crowd is trying to win it for them
