Interesting tidbit from the pre-game show, four of the Gnat

starters tonight are Padre prospects they acquired in the Soto

trade. I'm too lazy to figure out which ones.

P - Gore (1st Round / 3rd overall pick by SDP in 2018)

SS - CJ Abrams (1st / 6th in 2019)

CF - Robert Hassell (1st / 8th in 2020)

LF - James Wood (2nd round / 62nd in 2021)



Also included was Jarlin Susana, a 6' 6" RH just recently turned 21 y/o, currently in AA and a top 50-ish prospect prior to this season.

For those watching. What was up with Canning? Gamecast says he was throwing his 4 seam fastball a lot. Which is not good.

Well, except that some of those early XBHs were off his breaking stuff.

Biggest problem was that he wasn't always getting ahead with the fastball and so the Nats wound up sitting on some curves.

And he just barely scored prior to Pete being tagged out at 2nd because he wasn't running hard around 3rd either.

He probably doesn't realize that he's almost begging fans to Not be on his side.
