Positioning Lindor as far to his left as is permissible under the current rules is pretty much where he would be playing against any lefthanded batter I can think of if we didn't have the rule on positioning infielders.

The rule, Edgy, has radically shifted the way the game is played. Shifted! Get it? Hoo hah! Lol! Before the rule, Edgy, the game had evolved to the point where a defense was much more likelier to shift than not to shift. And your assumption about Lindor is just flat-out wrong, Edgy. Against practically every left-handed batter, Lindor would've been positioned on the right field side of second base before the rule. Lindor is a terrific defensive shortstop but without the shift, he wouldn't be fielding balls on the right field side of second base.

OK, so I voted DH.

But there is one change that really bugs me- the change to the option rule.

I liked it when you could get a copy of the 40 man rooster in the Spring and make pencil changes to that one page throughout the season. Now you have to reprint it every few days.

I liked it when a player could be kept in the minors for four years before they had to be added to the 40 man major league roster, then they had three options.

Period.

Not three option years during which a player or pitcher can be yo-yoed up and down countless times during each of those years. It stops fans from getting to know a player, drives traveling secretaries and scorecard printers nuts and can rush players to the majors before they are ready, to fill an immediate short term need. The old way allowed time for the players to be coached up to their abilities.

The disease that led to this change was, IMO, shorter starts for pitchers, The way the game is played.

But one byproduct is not caring because there is an endless supply of cannon fodder waiting in the minors for their one day of glory.

Another byproduct is with fewer replacements available, managers will have to be more judicious in changing pitchers and game will be shorter.
