Every TV shot of interim manager Grady Sizemore through a game and a half so far seems to show him in the exact same position and with the same expression.

I wonder if he stayed in that spot between games too?

When you say there's 'a line drive towards the Pole' during a game in Chicago it could be interpreted as a ball hit at any one of thousands of ticket holders.

Now suppose Winker had decided not to jump-rope that throw in from the OF but instead just froze and let it hit him?

I know you can't purposely interfere with a throw but to what degree is he required to get out of the way? It likely

doesn't change things if it did hit him but if Alonso had held at 3B a funny bounce of Jesse's kneecap may have allowed a run to score.

Interestingly early time to make a defensive replacement of your hottest hitter, but there are several lefties in this pen, and if Winker comes up with men on later in the game, he'd likely see one.

Taylor in for defense in place of three-hit Winker. And on top of that, one can make a case for Marte deserving to be the first glove out.
