bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Let's play two! The Dodgers have "tweaked" their rotation to match Tyler Glasnow against Tylor Megill just be funny and give the announcers something to talk about. Glasnow pitched 8 shutout innings against the Mets on April 21st but the Dodgers have lost 5 straight and the Mets have won one straight, so I'm not worried. LAD is a 1 1/2 run favorite and the O/U is 8 1/2 runs.https://www.mlb.com/gameday/dodgers-vs-mets/2024/05/28/745818/previewhttps://www.mlb.com/gameday/dodgers-vs-mets/2024/05/28/745818/preview

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 I wish they could shoehorn Vientos into this against the righty but without a roster change Vientos will sit in these games more often than not I guess
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 It's a third straight start for Baty, but in a doubleheader, they were each likely to get one of the two games under any circumstances.I certainly look forward to the first lineup that includes both of their names.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Among a long list of other stuff which hasn't gone right so far this year, yesterday's game was our sixth rainout of the season, a season which started exactly two months ago today ... with a rainout!
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Tuesday Night Mets Club plans to assemble in Section 514 by the 7th inning of Game 1
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Look at that crowd! I feel like there are at least two or three hundred!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Megill banks the first with only 14 pitches and one guy reaching.Don't want to make too much of that but one thing I learned the last Dodger series is that clearing the first four batters with no runs is no small thing.

Maybe one day
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 One more problem with putting your wall right up against a wall. That ball was caught, but bounced out as his glove had no give as it hit the black back wall.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Jeremy Riggs paying tribute to Angel Hernandez today with an extra-wide strike zone.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 GARY: Speaking of retirements, we don't have Angel Hernandez to kick around anymore.RON: We didn't really kick him around, did we?GARY: Well, everybody did.KEITH: Is he gonna make a Checkers speech?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 The Mets booth is listing all the Dodger pitchers on the Injured List, but they aren't even mentioning the missing guy who is still active as a DH.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Megilly has the induce-a-slow-roller-down-the-first-base-line pitch working nicely, especially for Ohtani.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Megillicuddy with 86 pitches through six.Send. Him. Back. Out.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 And he has his best inning, striking out the side in order. Now the looming plotline is how the Mets plan to finish this game.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 (edited) Let him at least start the 8th sez I.Thru seven on about 6-1/2 innings worth of pitches (98).Doesn't look like they will, though.Nor does it look like we're going to get any more hits in the near future.
