The return to afternoon baseball for early season Saturdays in Queens brings us RH Alec Marsh vs LH Sean Manaea at 1:40 EDT

Marsh, 26 and in his second ML season, was a 2019 2nd round (44th overall) out of Arizona St

His 17 Games/8 starts in his rookie season led to no great distinction [3-9; 5.69 ERA; 1.56 WHIP] but, like a lot of his teammates,

he's improved on things so far this year [3.09 / 1.03] first in a 7 IP 1R/2H game vs BAL, he then went 3R/8H in 4.2 vs CHW

As the only KCR pitcher yet to make his 3rd start I guess they consider him their 5th starter. Must be nice to live in a world where

your team goes three whole times through the rotation without having to resort to back-ups and call-ups.

I'l be watching assuming my cable/streaming services don't go out again just before game time as they did last night.

The Royals remind me of that 2015 team that frustrated you by putting the ball in play.

Both these teams are going at this like a World Series game.

It's the game they didn't have in their actual World Series.

134 pitches combined thru three innings.

A couple ticks past one hour to play. How long would three innings like those have taken prior to the speed up rules?

The best guess I have on the Milwaukee leftfielder Keith was trying to come up with is Rob Deer.
"White guy", said Keith.

Richie Sexon is who Keith is thinking about

What a difference a couple of days make.

Last week I'd be looking at a one run deficit and thinking 'insurmountable'. Today I'm thinking, 'eh, it's only four runs'.

This feels like a close 9-4 game.

Kinda felt that way, then it became 11-4.

One day, Francisco Alvarez will be like Salvador Perez.

He's going to get seven inches taller?!?

Admittedly I'm currently a bit less optimistic.
