A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 McNeil's "McNeil Face" perfectly captures the sentiment of the moment on that cover.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 (edited) The McNeil cover is clever but a cover with the great Howie Rose (over a cover about pooping) deserves the win. Edited January 10, 2024 by Guest
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2024 Author Posted January 12, 2024 Okay, this is going to be controversial, but something unorthodox happened.Earlier this morning, with the voting tied at 7-7, I converted this thread to an Announcement, asking for a tie-breaking vote. That vote was placed within a couple of hours, giving DIDDLY SQUAT an 8-7 lead. When I went to restore this to being a Standard Topic, the voting got corrupted somehow. The database still reflects the 15 votes, but for some reason the display here in the forum only shows two votes. I don't see a way to fix this, so the voting will have to be cut short, and the win will be awarded to DIDDLY SQUAT. (It was unlikely that any more votes would have been forthcoming, but we'll never know.) Enthusiasts of PUT EM IN THE BOOKS will be justifiably outraged, and this will be discussed for decades to come, but the situation is what it is.http://leaptoad.com/mets/covers/images/2023/2023_03_06.jpg>
