I saw Senga is recruiting one of the better Japanese pitchers coming to the states next year

Prior to the game, the Mets selected LHP Adam Kolarek from Triple-A Syracuse and recalled RHP Vinny Nittoli. To make room, the team optioned LHP Joey Lucchesi back to Syracuse.

The Mets also designated RHP Dennis Santana for assignment.

Mendick doesn't seem to have a thirdbaseman's tool set, but he's made some good plays tonight.

After the last two months or so of hoping that Batientos wouldn't fumble/bobble/kick/trip and/or bounce a throw, seeing Mendick make all the plays without drama is a nice sight.

That new StL 1Bman Luken Baker is from Houston rather than Luchenbach, Texas is a crying shame.

And it's a double crying shame if he's not using the Waylon Jennings song as his walk-up music in any case.
