The Mets purchased Adrian Garrett's contract, along with Amado Samuel's contract, on October 15, 1963, from the Milwaukee Braves. Garrett was sent back to the Braves to complete the Hook/McMillan trade.Said Garrett right after the Mets dealt him back to the Braves : "I'm what they call an unnamed player to be announced later.... I think I had a better chance with the Mets. Milwaukee is loaded in the outfield. But not the Mets. They're hurting.”
