Hook was traded to the Braves, along with a player to be named later, during the 1964 season for Roy McMillan, and then sent down to the Braves minors immediately, from where Hook would never return to the majors.

Coudn't resist. The Mets purchased Adrian Garrett's contract, along with Amado Samuel's contract, on October 15, 1963, from the Milwaukee Braves. Garrett was sent back to the Braves to complete the Hook/McMillan trade.



Said Garrett right after the Mets dealt him back to the Braves : "I'm what they call an unnamed player to be announced later.... I think I had a better chance with the Mets. Milwaukee is loaded in the outfield. But not the Mets. They're hurting.”
