kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Time to turn up the SHaMometer and start cookin'!!
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Author Posted August 4, 2023 Casu Marzu cheese will be near the rubber for Peterson tonight Casu Marzu is a cheese made in Sardinia. The name translates to "rotten cheese"It is flavored with maggots and other live larvae. It is said you need to eat the cheese while the maggots and larvae are still alive. The opposite of what I would have thought If Francisco calls for high cheese tonight a dose of Casu Marzu is on the wayLGM
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 If I tune in at all it will be to see what Baltimore is about, but I'll likely watch PBS News hour
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 I have a rather open-mindedness to trying new foods but I have to saythat I'll take a solid pass on sheep cheese with live maggots and larvae.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Author Posted August 4, 2023 Cooperstown Cheese of Milford NY had 1400 pounds of cheese recalled a couple of weeks ago. The "Jersey Girl" brand was dosed with ListeriaFun with cheeseLGM

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Araúz goes to Syracuse to clear space for Marte.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 With two outs and your power hitter up Francisco ... Really?!?!!??
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 A(nother) play not made forces Peterson to throw 9 or 10 extra pitches, but he does a nice job getting out of early trouble.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Author Posted August 4, 2023 Baltimore unis look like the ones at U of MarylandBlack with alot going on

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Author Posted August 4, 2023 What happened to Peterson? Is he hurt?
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 How much of it is education? There was certainly a time in many cities when - as long as you weren't an ass about it and went willingly - you'd simply be escorted out of the stadium with no other consequences
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Shea had a jail, so does Citi haha...
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 What happened to Peterson? Is he hurt?I don't think so. I believe it's just one of those latter-day practices that, if a pitcher, even a career-long starter, has been pitching out of the bullpen of late, upon joining the rotation, he is drastically reduced in the number of pitches he is permitted to throw until he is "stretched" by gradually increasing his limit.I'm not a fan.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Mets have now scored in four of their last 33 innings. And now, because they have two runners on, odds are the streak will stretch to 34.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Two on and the alleged best hitters coming up. The Mets' best scoring opportunity at hand.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Bezes now bloated.Baltimore stays with their twirler.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 I'm surprised Alvarez was able to cruise into 3rd uncontested. Mountcastle seemed to give up early on that one even though the throw would have been short and his momentum leading him in the right direction.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Ah, a double play, back to business as usual.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 And even here, as they score for just the second time in the last 24 innings, it took a pitcher falling apart (and a slow hook) issuing three straight BBs and then their #3 & #4 hitters go weak contact and weak contact.Fortunately in this case, the well-placed weak bloop came before the GIDP weak grounder.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Am I crazy or am I hearing something like the Atlanta Braves tomahawk chant at Orioles Stadium?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Wow, I knew if the Mets were patient enough, James McCann's offense would come around.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Both a hesitation from Lindor before throwing and then a bit of a balloon throw considering how short a throw it was.It like he either didn't expect the runner to go or he assumed he already had and there was no play.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Man, I'm getting a ride home tonight from James McCann. Everything is going right for that guy.
