Been a bit lax on our TWiBbing lately, but the Dodgers are visiting Atlanta so that's a series worthy of keeping an eye on.

They actually started yesterday while most of us were taking a night off from baseball.

Brave jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 1st (cuz that's what they do most nights) but this time they wound up getting out-scored

8-2 the rest of the way for an 8-6 LAD win with Charlie Morton taking it on the chin.

In game 2, just under way now, Spenser Strider is on the mound like he is in about 3/4 of Braves games I see. They must use

other pitchers but I'll be damned if I ever see any.

And now a single through a drawn-in infield nets the Dodgers an early 1-0 lead.

Dodgers are starting RH Bobby Miller making his ML debut as most of their staff is IL'd at the present moment.

Also on tap is a suddenly interesting series between the Yanx & O's in da Bronx

I mean, yeah, they're 3rd & 4th place teams right now but that's in the everybody >.500 AL East and the O's might actually have

a contending team this year. Plus they netted two 1st inning runs off of Gerrrritttt Cole for an early lead.

This Bobby Miller guy for LAD acquired the nickname Bobby Hundred in the minors for his fastball regularly hitting triple digits.

He gave up a run to the Braves in bottom 1st but the Dodgers put up three more on Strider in the 2nd for a 4-1 lead.

When you fail to score as the road team during the clown car rules era you're almost always in deep trouble as the Orioles showed tonight, losing in the bottom half on a ground out then a guy out.

Fuck you Rob Manfred

Speaking of not cashing in your runners, the Dodgers are out-hitting the Braves 11 to 4 tonight, but it's tied 3-3 as they start the 9th inning.

5 - 5 as they start the 8th in Atlanta.

This is the first of four between Philly and 'lanta, culminating with the Sunday night game.

Not mentioned by Gary in discussing the Phils evening up their series w/the Braves 1-1 was that it was Craig Kimbrel's 400th career save.

And maybe partially because it occurred on the road rather than at home, but let's just say that his reaction to the round number milestone

was a bit more subdued than that of one J. Franco.

So I think it's safe to say that SNB isn't getting off to a good start for the Phillies

Bottom 1st: 1B, HR, HR, 1B, FC, 2B, 1B, E-6, FC, SB, 1B, CS

7-0 Braves heading into the 2nd
