Mets manager Buck Showalter said on Tuesday that Starling Marte (finger) is improving "little by little." Showalter added that Marte isn't at the point where he can play in a game. The 33-year-old veteran outfielder was unable to grip a bat with both hands on Monday and it's unclear whether he'll be ready in time for the start of the National League Wild Card Series on Friday.
