G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2021 Posted October 2, 2021 Giants have 106 wins and haven't clinched their division.Dodgers have 105 wins and aren't in first place.Whoever doesn't finish atop the NL West standings can conceivably be knocked out in a single game by a team that recently won 17 straight. But if the Wild Card from the West does beat the Cardinals, then we get a Giants-Dodgers NLDS.Wow, y'know?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 Picture this scenario: Giants lose today while the Dodgers win; then they lose the division/WC game to LAD, then lose again to the Cardinals.THAT would be the most ill-timed three game (four I guess including Saturday) losing streak EVER!106 wins and get bounced before the real action even starts.
