http://metsminors.net/mets-minors-offseason-news-and-notes/Luis Guillorme has pulled a rare feat, not only winning the BSoHL Trophy, which is an award that should be given (but isn't) to the first Met of each offseason to be declared by an allegedly objective observer to be in the best shape of his life, but has stunned observers by achieving this status before the New Year.

While the record gets blurrier the further back we go, no Met that we know of has ever been reported as being in the BSoHL before Christmas.

There is some talk of a Met or two filing a protest. I don't want to say whom, but one of their names rhymes with Scram Taggerty. The argument is sort of along the line of "Sure he's in his best shape, but that's pretty easy for him, as the guy has looked like a gummy bear for two or three years now."

While we have to admit that this argument isn't without merit (similar arguments were made by Chris Woodward when Heath Bell walked off with the 2005 trophy), unless the appeal leads to a reversal, this year's BSoHL crown goes to Guillorme. Congratulations, Luis.

I've adopted Luis Guillorme as my irrationally high hopes for a middling-middle infielder 2020. Past honorees include Gavin Cechhini, TJ Rivera and Matt Reynolds.

I know that doesn't exactly inspire confidence, but one of these days, fortune will smile upon us.

I'm all in on Guillorme being an above average sixth infielder.
