Pirates RH Dario Agrazal (2-0, 2.25)

Mets RH Zack Wheeler (6-6, 4.69)

* ya know, unless he doesn't

he's cleared all the checks and inbetween start throwing and all that , so I think it'd be surprising if he didn't start now.

oh, duh.

More likely he'll start and about the second inning Twitter will be sure he's traded because of some jump the gun tweet by Rosenthal or some hack, and then it'll be the fifth and we'll be angry at the garbage return we're getting for him, and then in the 6th the other team will reject based on medicals, and we'll bitch about that, meanwhile he's at 85 pitches with no-hits and no one's noticed.

I like the last part!

I'm trusting Frazier more these days than Conforto or Ramos, but sure.

Here's are the terrors of the high seas.

  1. Corey Dickerson (L) lf

  2. Adam Frazier (L) 2b

  3. Starling Marte ® cf

  4. Josh Bell (S) 1b

  5. Bryan Reynolds (S) rf

  6. Colin Moran (L) 3b

  7. Jung Ho Kang ® ss

  8. Elias Diaz ® c

  9. Dario Agrazal ® p

The game will come down to which Frazier performs the best.

The #Mets now have 5 players aged 27 or younger with 10 home runs in 2019 (Alonso, Conforto, McNeil, Rosario, Smith). That is the most in one season in franchise history.

This actually is panning out as such.

Wheels, meanwhile, gets a 73-pitch workday.

Every Met who was reached base so far tonight has scored: 5 hits, 0 BB, 1 HBP, 6 Runs

So no LOB and no runners erased (via GiDP, CS, caught advancing, etc.)

Pete and Wilson go kaboom!

I can't figure out what Alonso was thinking there. It's like he was covering the coach's box instead of the bag.

Mickey has been on the job for almost two years and still doesn't understand when and why to double-switch. Also, there are 10 coaches there to help him including a "quality control" coach.

Keith: "Good frame by Ramos on that pitch."

Me: "Stop sniffing the white-out; a strike is where the ball crosses the plate

not where a catcher magically moves his glove to make things seem different."

Wow! 9:35 game end.

Tonight was the 5th sub-2:30 game* of the year for the Mets

A quick sampling on a decade by decade basis of sub-2:30 NYM games for the season

1969 = 91 (including one 10-inning game)

1979 = 76

1989 = 27

1999 = 9

2009 = 19

* Twelve nine-inning games have gone over 3:30, plus 6 more extra inning games
