What a deflating piece-o-shit game that was: the blown lead, the bad defense, the ridiculous rate of 2-out hits allowed, HRs to marginal players - all w/runners on of course, the lack of 2-out hitting on

the other side, and the just sheer lack-of-luck in that every MFY hit that wasn't hit hard fell in anyway (just beyond McNeil, just in front of Davis, just beyond Conforto).

The whole scenario where we (Frazier) get a runner on 2nd via an infield error w/no outs and leave him there, and then they get a runner on 2nd via a two-out error (against Frazier) this time and score a bushel

just sums up the afternoon.

There must be a way to estimate just exactly how much our staff's horrid ability to close out both batters and innings is costing us.

Even before you get into the 'hidden runs' caused by increased pitch counts, early bullpen trips, etc., if this staff were to hold the opposition to a BAA/OBA/SLG-w/RiSP at a clip that merely matched their already

sub-par batting-against for the season
it would shirley shave multiple runs allowed (a dozen?, two dozen?, more?) off that side of the ledger. Certainly we'd be an over-.500 club which, in this division at the

moment, means touching distance to 1st place.

Instead, our BAA-A w/RiSP is the worst in MLB so now each hit, each walk, each error, and each play not made!! winds up hurting just that much more.

That this was all on display this afternoon in the fucking Bronx against a pieced-together lineup which is doing the very opposite in those situations (not just today but the whole fucking season!!), just makes

you want to hurl again. And you know this is going to get spun as: 'Well the Yanx don't play that way' even though they were every bit as awful in the field today (and have more errors on the season) but

simply got more, and more timely, hits.
