Welcome to the family, Andres.

I'm sure the more balanced diet we'll feed you will pare off some of that poundage.

Andres celebrates his first game in Appalachian League ball with Kingsport by going 3-5 with a dinger and 4 RBI.

After five games for the 4-1 Kingsport Mets (he has played in 4), my kid has a slash line of .526/.550/.895/1.445 which includes 1 double, 2 homers and 9 RBI.

Nice start, kid.

My kid got three hits the other night and is batting .333 with 3 HR and 14 RBI in 11 games.

So, he sat last night (didn't even, gasp, DH).

It must be an organizational thing to sit a player who is on a hot streak.

He was 1-3 with 2 RBI last night when I checked mid-game.

Now the box score isn't there on the minor league baseball site, just the 9-8 final score.

Frustrating.

OE: the box score magically reappeared. He finished 1-3 with a walk.

My kid is slashing .280/.311/.487 after 37 games. His 40 RBI lead the team, and his 7 HR tie for the team lead.

He is overtaking the "hot prospect" Francisco Alvarez, with whom he shares the catching duties. Francisco is slashing .291/.395/.400 and has 2 HR and 11 RBI in 30 games.

My kid finished the season with a slash line of: .292/.328/.489/.817

The other numbers were: 44G 192PA, 178 AB, 26 R, 52 H, 11 2B, 0 3B, 8 HR, 49 RBI, 0-2 SB, 8 BB, 36K.

Not bad.

Keep it up, kid.

Ummm, could use a few walks.

He had OBPs of .359 and .420 his two prior years.

He was trying to show he is better than a highly touted signee, so maybe he was pressing this year.

I have full confidence he'll get more selective.

Baseball America Almanac says he was the All-Star catcher in the Appalachian League.

Sky's the limit.

He was voted the #27th best prospect in the organization by Prospects1500.com.

Regnault has an above average offensive profile at the catcher position. His bat to ball skills and power have served him well thus far in his career. He is limited defensively due to his lack of athleticism and size, making a move to 1B or DH a possibility. He will need to develop behind the plate to get a real chance at the big league level.

Haven't seen my kid in any minor league box scores yet.

Several catchers the Mets drafted or signed as free agents in the last two years have shown up.

I hope he survived the contraction of the minor leagues and subsequent purge of players.

Andres was released during camp back in March.

I missed that.

Too bad.

Hitting catchers, with power, are hard to find. The Mets' #1 prospect is a catcher, and the Mets have drafted several other catchers in the last few years (when they had full drafts), and they seem to have bumped my kid off the path.

He was kinda' roly-poly and maybe he let his weight go wild during the inactivity of the pandemic.

Hope he catches on with another team.

Glad to see my kid signed with Gateway (Frontier League) and is hitting .313 after 6 games.

22 year old Andres is hitting .325-11-34 at Gateway, and throwing out 33% of attempting base stealers.

The catchers the Mets kept, and are now at low A? Matt O'Brien is hitting .192 and Juan Uarte is hitting .176. They are both 24 yrs. old.

I hope the Mets see the error of their ways and find a place for Andres back in the organization before another team signs him.
