Guest 41Forever Guests Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Listened to the Shea Anything podcast today, and Tracky was talking about Dom Smith vs Pete Alonso. He said there are many, many reason why if Smith has a strong spring, he'd be the one heading north. The service time was one factor, but there are many others, including his superior defense. But, he also said it is more likely that Dom having a strong spring -- which he is doing so far -- will create a market just wasn't there before and will increase the chances that the Mets will deal him before the team heads north. He also said he believes d'Arnould is likely to be traded as well. Devin Mesoraco is tight with deGrom and they work well together. His contract has a clause saying he can't go to Syracuse unless all other major league teams pass on him. My question would be what are we going to get for these guys? We have 11 or so outfielders, a crowded infield and competition for the bullpen. Do we want more starting depth? Prospects?
