What do you think the odds are Syndergaard, throwing that hard, has impending tommy john? If it happens early on in a season you miss two seasons and they still control him for three. Buying out three years is trickier, though he's been one that's bristled at the forced contract bits, so maybe you could convince him to sell out some free agent years in deference to losing two UCL years?
