Pile it the fuck on!!!

This game's not going to end until midnight at this pace anyway, so we might as well score 20.
Besides ... we may need it.

I have to say that I love the Yankees' straightaway infield defense.

It kind of turns me on a little bit.

Meanwhile, at Nationals Park Strasburg gets mad at Scherzer:

Gee, I'm sorry Nimmo got thrown out, but I have to say, Stanton looked like a real golem out there in right. I don't remember him being that much of a statue with the Marlins.

That's two weak throws by Giancarlo, which is kind of odd for him but maybe he's one of those guys who can only get off good heaves when they get the chance to line up everything behind it.

And while there are several good arguments against it (and the single by Cespedes makes it even worse) I was OK with Nimmo's try for 3rd there.

Sheesh, Shreve, how'd you get a shutout inning throwing that slop?

Kind of weird to see 31 on a Yankees' back. I imagine they've retired a half dozen numbers of guys who gave them less than Winfield.

The difference tonight (so far anyway) is no walks.
The Yanx usually get their share of BBs which, when combined with these slop hits they're getting (what's that now, [crossout:2s3wfwch]7 of 9[/crossout:2s3wfwch] 8 of 10 which wouldn't break a pane of glass?) means lots
of baserunners until someone "runs into one".

Yankees with fewer Yankee Wins Above Replacement than Winfield who nonetheless have their numbers retired:

Phil Rizzuto, Reggie Jackson, Roger Maris, Elston Howard, Billy Martin (yeah, I know).

Now they've got the lead down to three, one duck still on the pond, and 11 outs to get, and Syndergaard in the showers.

Beyond comprehension. With two more games against these guys to go.

They seemed worried about the loss of velocity. Shit D from Rosie hurt that inning

I'm just shocked that the wet-newspaper bloop off Judge's bat didn't find some grass somewhere.
Everything else they've hit tonight has.

Seemed he got called off by dD and then they both crapped out.

The earlier thing on Rosario wasn't on him.
I haven't seen yet what he did or didn't do in the 8th.
