Reyes 10-for-29 lifetime vs Scherzer. Anything that might screw up the Nationals ace and make him unable to start the ASG, thus clearing the way for deGrom, is welcome.

Sitting a heating Rosario versus a great pitcher may be this year's answer to two years ago not sitting sitting a scalding Conforto versus Bumgarner, and Conforto cooling off that afternoon and for a while thereafter. Still seems weird.

Well, this game was fun while it lasted.
The odds of this offense getting three total bases vs Scherzer are low enough so the odds of three runs are virtually infinitesimal.

Thanks to some less than great defense, the Mets already have 3 total bases.
But that was a HUGE fucking overturn (if such a thing can exist in a 1st inning) especially for a play which wasn't anything close to fitting the definition of "definitive".
