Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Theoretically, if Conforto gets hurt, who's job will it be to ground into the shift?

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Did Nimmo's arm fall off on that throw? That was Gilkey-to-Ordóñez-esque.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Pulling Oswalt after four because ... why?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 If Fray-Fray can do it, Smitty, so can you.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Edgy MD wrote:Pulling Oswalt after four because ... why?Because Mickey has far more faith in the bullpen than most fans do. Maybe he thinks that given enough chances, the bullpen will eventually get the job done.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 That's more or less true, but the question is which decision is the best bet.America loves tack-on runs. Keep it coming, Mets.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Now the drama (and potential agony) of watching our bullpen attempt to hold the lead for 5 innings.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 4 run lead, 4 innings to go ... I'd say six or seven more runs and we've got a chance at pulling this one off.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Todd Frazier running the bases like he is in Little League and he's easily thrown out by 3-4 feet. Scored as a caught stealing because "brain fart" isn't an official scoring notation. The way this Mets team struggle to scor, they can't afford to give away out with boneheaded base running.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Nice backhand grab by Frazier to get the lead runner.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 I have always liked Curtis Granderson, but wow does he have a "rag arm".
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Men at the corners with 2 outs. Conforto hit a weak bloop to the SS playing 3rd base. At least he didn't ground into the shift (I guess).
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Ronnie: Lugo's in a position here, Gary. He's going to be pitching until he's not effective.Edgy: That's the way it's supposed to work!
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Now if only Callaway would buy into that philosophy.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 They might've scored if Rosario was running for Flores.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Every inning without a soul-crushing/lead-reducing/multiple-run HR is a good inning.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 (edited) Bottom 9, 3 run lead -- I give us at least a 20% chance of winning this one. Edited July 5, 2018 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Thanks for first-pitch swinging in the ninth, Jays.
