Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 In this era where schedules are much tougher to make up than before, there are two day games scheduled for today and both are in Chicago: Cubs (their home opener) host the Pirates; and the White Sox, who have yet to play on the road, are hosting TampaAnd now for the weird part: The Sox/Rays game is currently in the bottom of the 2nd; the Cubs game (six miles north) has been rained/snowed out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Author Posted April 11, 2018 Two games of interest to us tonight:Sawx jump on Yanx early at Fenway in the first game of the season between those two clubs. 4-0 in bottom 4 in a matchup of Sale vs SeverinoNats up 3-0 on Braves in the 5th. Strasburg vs Foltynewicz
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Author Posted April 11, 2018 Whoa, 14-1 Sox after 6 !!How 'bout saving save some of those for the rest of the series?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 MFYs crowing that their run was a long HR by Judge, as though that matters any more than the cheap ones they get at their park.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Author Posted April 11, 2018 (edited) Braves brought a 1-run lead into the 9th, but the Nats tied it up (Matt Adams HR)They went ahead again in the 11th (Kurt Suzuki HR) but the Nats again tied it (Kendrick singled in Harper). So they're at 3-3 heading for the 12thAlso a pretty significant brawl between SD and the Rox.So in case you were wondering whether Rox 3B Nelson Arenado is pro or anti getting drilled in the back, put him down in the 'anti' camp. Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 So now, each inning starts with a runner on second base and two out, right?

Duh!oe: Although, as it turns out, the Braves are starting the top of the 12th with no outs and the bases loaded - although it's the result of 2 singles plus a walk.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Author Posted April 11, 2018 Braves win in 12. Nats back to .500 (6-6). Adam Eaton back to the DL

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 I see where David Price decides that he'll just continue to suck whenever he faces the Yanx. He did in Tampa and that trend didn't end when he went to the Sox.Tonight he coughed up 4 in the 1st and was gone before the 2nd even began.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 Yanx were up 8-1 in tonight's game - in part due to 2 Gary Sanchez HRs.But it's now 10-6 and, being a Yanx/Sawx game, is still in the 6th inning despite starting the same time as ours.Oh yeah, and they've just had a fight. Second time the benches have emptied, first time the fists were flying.Second incident certainly seems to be directly related to the first.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 The White Sox drew a robust 900 fans to a game this week. I'm going to the April 21 game with a buddy. Guess getting tickets won't be tough.
