  2. I dunno about Familia not having his best stuff If that swinging bunt goes foul maybe none of those runs score. Bad luck more than bad stuff methinks.

I have a friend who's an ER doc. He tells me when guys come in with the '4-hour jobber', he says to them 'look I can stick this needle in your dick and fix your problem or you can just go home and enjoy it as long as it lasts'

  9. Gotta figure tonight is the rubber game what with Syndegaard on Saturday and Kershaw on Sunday. Very curious to see this Urias kid.
  10. This has gotten completely out of hand. Should he have addressed the media? Sure....I guess. Honestly I didn't care. There was nothing new I was going to learn about his struggles. What more was he going to say that he hadn't already said after his other lousy starts? He feels fine, he doesn't know what the problem is, he hopes he can work through it. I'm not his biggest fan either but the guy has been completely stand-up prior to to the other night. Give him a break, he's bummed out. So would all of us be.
  11. I'm watching the replay on SNY. Anybody else notice that the ball girl down the third base line only has one arm? She just picked up a foul ball (off Murph in the 6th) and tossed it into the crowd using just her glove. OE: FIRST base line. You know, I'm 51 fucking years old and I STILL has issues with right and left. WTF?
  12. Harvey needs to stay in the rotation no matter what happens tonight. As long as he is physically fine they have to keep throwing him out there.
  13. Are you always guaranteed the Mets feed on satellite or do you sometimes have to listen to the opponents announcers?

When I get news from the Internet (and I do, frequently) it is, as you say, likely to be stuff I'm interested in. But when I page through a newspaper I see other stuff, stuff I wouldn't have sought out. And I end up learning about things I wouldn't have otherwise been exposed to. Absolutely agree. When I used to read the New York Times in print, I would at least leaf through every section, very frequently stopping at an article or topic that I wouldn't have sought out on my own. Since I've started reading the Times solely online, I truly have to make an effort to do that and even so I don't read nearly as much of the paper as I used to.
  15. Yeah, you can't 'clean up' the quotes. It bugs the shit out of me when I read grammatically incorrect statements because I think it validates the errors in a way that says its acceptable to speak this way. I mean, I guess it is but if my kids did it, I'd immediately correct them. So no you can't edit them and yes, I pass judgment on the speaker.
  16. Never mind I got it. Thought they were talking about Rene Rivera. Doh.
  17. Why's the booth gushing about Rivera coming in?

  19. They let you bring a full water bottle in? Hmmmm, you've given me something to think about.

  21. Gracias amigo.
  22. Anybody know if that Murphy tribute vid is available online anywhere?

Non-story really. It's been ongoing for over a year and his wife has complete knowledge of it.
